Advertising, Sponsorship and Supplements

Advertising decisions are independent of editorial decisions and are not linked to the publication of particular articles. Advertisements must be clearly identifiable, must not mimic editorial content, and must not be intrusive or misleading. Acceptance does not imply endorsement by JPSIM or PSIM.

Sponsored supplements or collections must identify the sponsor and funding arrangements, the role of the sponsor, the responsible editor and the applicable peer-review process. Editors retain full control of content and may reject material that does not meet journal standards. Product claims must comply with applicable law and professional standards.

Direct marketing. Any direct marketing by JPSIM, including emails that invite authors to submit manuscripts or reviewers to review, is appropriate to the journal’s scope, well targeted at people likely to be interested, and unobtrusive. Messages are truthful: they describe the journal, its peer-review process, its fees and its indexing status accurately, and they do not promise acceptance, publication speed, indexing or an impact factor that the journal cannot guarantee. Every message identifies JPSIM and the sender and gives the editorial office address (editor@psimj.com). Anyone who asks not to be contacted again is removed from the journal’s mailing list, and contact details are used only for the stated purposes of the journal and are not sold or passed to other parties for marketing.

Solicitation of manuscripts. An invitation to submit is not a promise of publication. Invited and commissioned articles are handled under the Peer Review policy, and fees, where they apply, are those on the Article Processing Charges page. Editorial decisions are never influenced by an author’s response to a marketing message or by ability to pay.
