Authors retain the copyright of their articles. Copyright is not transferred to the Journal of Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine (JPSIM) or to the Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine (PSIM). All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0), which allows anyone to read, share and reuse them with credit to the authors.
Who Holds the Copyright
The authors of an article are the copyright holders of that article. By submitting to JPSIM, authors grant the journal the right of first publication and the right to publish the article under the CC BY 4.0 licence. The journal holds no other rights in the article. Copyright is not transferred to JPSIM or to PSIM.
Licence
All articles published in JPSIM are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). This licence permits anyone to share, copy, redistribute and adapt the work in any medium or format, for any lawful purpose, including commercial use, provided that appropriate credit is given, a link to the licence is supplied, and any changes are indicated.
Where the Copyright and Licence Are Shown
The copyright holder and the licence are stated in the following places:
- On every article page, where the licence is displayed with a link to the full licence text.
- In the article metadata, including the licence information deposited with Crossref for each DOI.
- In the website footer, which states that articles are © the authors and published under CC BY 4.0.
JPSIM does not apply the phrase "All rights reserved" to any content published under a Creative Commons licence.
Third-Party Material
Material in an article that is owned by others and is not covered by the article's licence, such as figures, tables, images or questionnaires, is clearly identified in the article. Authors are responsible for obtaining written permission to reproduce such material and must supply that permission to the journal.
Reusing an Article
Anyone reusing an article should credit the author(s), the article title, the journal name (Journal of Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine), the year of publication and the DOI where one is given, and should include a link to the CC BY 4.0 licence. Reuse must not suggest that the authors or JPSIM endorse the reuse or the user's use of the work.
Sharing by Authors
Under the CC BY 4.0 licence, authors may share the published version of their article without embargo, including on personal or institutional websites, in institutional repositories and on scholarly networks, provided the original publication in JPSIM is cited.
