The Editorial Board of the Journal of Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine (JPSIM) is led by the Editor-in-Chief and includes the Editor, Associate Editors, Assistant Editors, the Managing Editor and the Editorial Board Members. It is responsible for the scientific quality, integrity and independence of the journal.
The Editorial Board:
- defines and periodically reviews the aims, scope and editorial policies of the journal;
- screens submissions for scope, originality, methodological quality, ethical compliance and similarity;
- selects external, independent reviewers according to their subject expertise and absence of conflict of interest, and oversees the double-blind peer review process;
- takes the final decision on each manuscript (accept, revise or reject), based solely on scholarly merit and independent of any commercial or institutional interest;
- upholds publication ethics in line with COPE and ICMJE recommendations, and investigates concerns about misconduct, corrections and retractions;
- contributes to, reviews and solicits articles in their own specialty, and supports the journal's visibility and growth.
Editors and Board Members must declare conflicts of interest. A submission authored by an editor or Board Member receives independent handling and the author takes no part in its review or decision. Editorial board service except Managing Editor is honorary.
