JPSIM welcomes original research, review articles, case reports, and other scholarly contributions from clinicians and researchers in internal medicine and related fields. Review the checklist and manuscript requirements below before you begin.
Submission Preparation Checklist
Before submitting, verify that your manuscript meets all of the following requirements. Submissions that do not comply will be returned without review.
- Originality — The manuscript has not been previously published and is not under consideration by any other journal. No substantial portion is being submitted elsewhere simultaneously.
- File Format — The manuscript is in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). Supplementary files may be in PDF, Excel, or image formats.
- Manuscript Formatting — Text is double-spaced in 12-point Times New Roman or Arial. Italics are used instead of underlining. All figures, tables, and illustrations are placed within the text at the appropriate points with descriptive legends.
- References — Vancouver Style — All references are numbered consecutively in superscript in the text and listed at the end in Vancouver format. URLs are provided for references available online, with access dates noted.
- Structured Abstract & MeSH Keywords — The abstract (250 words maximum) is structured as: Background & Objectives / Methods / Results / Conclusion. Three to ten MeSH keywords are provided. Find MeSH terms at ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/mesh.
- ICMJE Authorship Criteria — All listed authors meet the four ICMJE authorship criteria. The Author Contributions statement is included in the manuscript. An Authorship Declaration is attached.
- Ethics & Institutional Approval — Studies involving human participants have received IRB/ethics committee approval, and approval number and committee name are stated. Informed written consent was obtained. Animal studies follow institutional guidelines. The study complies with the Declaration of Helsinki.
- Blinded for Peer Review — Author names, affiliations, and acknowledgements have been removed from the manuscript file. Self-identifying citations are minimised or removed to ensure a fair double-blind review.
- Plagiarism Self-Check — The manuscript has been checked for plagiarism (iThenticate, Turnitin, or equivalent). Similarity index is below 19% excluding the reference list.
- Conflict of Interest & Funding — A Conflict of Interest statement and a Funding/Support statement are included, or “None declared” is stated for each.
- Cover Letter — A cover letter addressed to the Editor-in-Chief is included, stating the article type, confirming originality, and disclosing any overlap with related manuscripts.

How to Submit
- Register / Login — Create an author account or log in at the top of this page.
- Article Details — Enter title, abstract, keywords, article type, and section.
- Authors — Add all co-authors with affiliations and ORCID iDs.
- Upload Files — Upload the blinded manuscript and any supplementary files.
- Metadata — Provide ethics, funding, conflict of interest, and declarations.
- Review & Submit — Review your submission and confirm. You will receive a confirmation email with your submission code.
Fees & Submission Windows
Submission & Processing Fees Apply. A submission fee is payable by bank deposit before submission, and a processing fee is payable upon acceptance. See Fee Details for current amounts and the bank account to deposit into — you’ll upload your deposit slip when you submit.
Rolling Submissions — No Fixed Deadlines. JPSIM accepts submissions on a rolling basis throughout the year. Articles are published online ahead of print immediately upon acceptance.
