Long-term preservation
The Journal of Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine (JPSIM) deposits every published article in the Internet Archive, a non-profit digital library, so that the content remains available if this website is ever unavailable.
Where the copies are kept
Each article is deposited as a separate item containing the final published PDF (Version of Record) and its bibliographic metadata: title, authors, DOI, volume, issue, publication date, keywords, abstract and the CC BY 4.0 licence. Item identifiers begin with psimj-.

How and when deposits are made
- The complete back catalogue (Volume 1 onwards) is being deposited, and every new article is deposited after the issue it belongs to is published.
- The deposit is made by the journal office, using the article pages on this website as the source, so the archived copy matches the published version.
- Archived items are public and can be read and downloaded without registration, under the CC BY 4.0 licence.
DOIs and access
Article DOIs (registered with Crossref) resolve to the article page on this website. If the website becomes permanently unavailable, the journal will update the DOI records so that they point to the preserved copy in the Internet Archive.
Backups
In addition to the independent copy above, the journal keeps routine backups of its database and uploaded files on its hosting provider for disaster recovery. These backups support day-to-day recovery and are not a substitute for the independent preservation copy.
Author rights
Authors retain copyright. Articles are published under CC BY 4.0, which permits the preservation copies described on this page.
